HERE ARE ANSWERS TO MANY OF OUR FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

ADMISSION

Admission is $10. Skate rentals are available for an additional fee.

Skate rentals are $5 + tax. We also offer skate mates for $5 and wrist guards for $3 + tax. For example, admission plus a skate rental totals $15.40.

Skating comes with some risk, and waivers make sure everyone understands the rules and stays safe while having fun.

If a themed skate takes place during a regular public session, it is included with standard admission. If the themed event is a standalone experience on a separate date, a special event fee will apply and may vary depending on the event.

Yes, all guests are required to sign a waiver once per year, whether they are skating or spectating.

We aim to start admitting people at least 15 minutes before the scheduled start to our session to allow time to get skates on before the music starts.

Currently we are not offering online ticket sales.

Cash, credit and debit cards are all accepted. Google and Apple Pay. No personal checks!

Yes!

No, we only charge skaters admission. However, if you do decide to skate after entry just come up to the front counter to pay for the admission and skate rental.

Re-entry may depend on the session. Check with staff when you arrive.

SKATES/EQUIPMENT

Yes, as long as the wheels are clean. If they have been worn outside, the wheels must be wiped off prior to entry. All quad skates must have toe stops or toe plugs.

We carry all types of skates!

  • Regular (traditional) roller skates – what we, in the industry call “quads”
    [sizes Juv. 6-men’s 15]
  • Inline skates (aka ‘blades’ or ‘rollerblades’) – all the wheels are in a row
    [sizes Juv. 10-men’s 15]
  • Speed skates – also quad skates, but with a lower-cut boot, a lower heel, and wider wheels [sizes 1-13]

Absolutely. We welcome all skill levels.

Yes, we currently offer skate mates to help beginners build confidence on the rink.

Protective gear is not required, but you are welcome to bring your own knee pads, elbow pads, wrist guards, or helmet. We also offer gear rentals if you prefer.

Yes, we have lockers available to secure your items for a small fee!

Parents can walk out onto the skating surface, as long as they remove, or put shoe covers on over, their shoes. The shoe covers are available for free in a bin on the skate rental counter. (Please return them to bin after use, if they are still in good shape).

Yes, we recommend staying toward the inside of the skating floor to allow for faster skaters to use the outside lanes.

Yes, we allow strollers and wheelchairs as long as the wheels are clean and the floor is not too crowded.

We recommend staying toward the inside of the floor. More experienced skaters tent to stay on the outside. We also have Skate Mates available for rent.

All skate rentals are one price.

Every Saturday 9pm-11pm. Entry begins at 8pm

Adult skate is for anybody 18+

Yes, we will card you at the door.

Outside food, beverages, and alcohol are not permitted on the premises.

CONCESSIONS & Arcade

Please ask us. We will do our best to provide you with any information you need.

We have game cards, you just go to kiosk to purchase game cards with cash or card.

We offer pizza, hotdogs, pretzels, snacks, drinks, and treats at our café. 

No outside food or drinks are allowed.

birthdays & private events

Absolutely. We offer private rink rentals for birthdays, corporate events, schools, and special events.

Contact us directly to check availability and pricing. 

Party packages include 10 participating guests including the birthday child. You can add more for an additional fee per guest.

Outside food and drinks are not allowed, except for cake or cupcakes for booked parties.

Each party includes skating, skate rental, pizza, drinks, and a $10 game card for each participating guest.

You are more than welcome to stay for the duration of the public session. After your allotted party time, tables will no longer be served and may be used for other parties or opened for public use.l

ONLY BOOKED PARTIES may bring outside cake, decoration, or gifts. Walk-in parties or groups that do not have a party booked with us are NOT permitted to bring outside food, gifts, or decorations.

We offer multiple options, including revenue-sharing on admissions or customizable pricing where schools ear per ticket sold. 

Fundraisers, school spirit nights, and private school events. Reach out to us and we’ll help yo choose the best option for your group!

Our STEM program combines skating with interactive learning experiences focused on movement, physics, and coordination. 

STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) is designed for school groups and educational outings.

OTHER QUESTIONS

Yes! We have free WiFi, no password is needed.

Yes. This is a family roller skating center and we ask that our patrons respect that and dress appropriately. We reserve the right to deem clothing “appropriate.”

No smoking is allowed inside our building, in accordance with the Illinois State statute. We have a designated smoking area outside, away from our entrance/exit.

Our trained staff is always watching the floor to help keep things safe and fun. That said, skating is an active sport, and falls or collisions can happen.

By choosing to skate, you understand and accept these risks. Skateland is not responsible for injuries that may occur while enjoying the rink.

Yes! Our DJ takes requests when possible. 

We do! Listen for announcements during your visit.

We are open to fundraisers and private events during the week. We have public skating most Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.

These are special sessions with music, games, and activities based on a theme.
